Doncaster's economy has reoriented over the past two decades around logistics, rail and distribution. The iPort rail freight interchange, the airport site, and the concentration of national distribution centres along the M18 corridor have made the borough a major warehousing hub, with the same IT profile that brings — handheld fleets, warehouse management systems, transport office desktops and large synchronised refresh cycles.
The borough also retains a substantial rail engineering heritage, and hosts Doncaster Council's estate, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals, and a growing further and higher education presence. Between the public sector's documentation requirements and the logistics sector's volume, it is a market where both halves of what we do get used.
