Manchester is a straight run west along the M62 — the same motorway that starts a few minutes from our gate. We run it weekly, so a city centre collection is a scheduled stop rather than a special trip.
Manchester is the largest market we serve, and one of the easiest to reach: M62 west to junction 18, then onto the M60. Twenty-eight miles, and a route we drive every week.
We cover the city centre and the full spread of Greater Manchester business locations — the Northern Quarter and Ancoats, Spinningfields and the legal quarter, the university corridor along Oxford Road, MediaCityUK and Salford Quays, the airport corridor at Wythenshawe, and the office parks out toward Trafford and Stockport.

Manchester has the largest technology and digital cluster in the UK outside London, and that shapes the work we do there. Software companies, agencies and scale-ups run fleets of high-specification laptops on short refresh cycles — typically three years — and that equipment is usually worth real money when it comes out. It is also, almost without exception, enrolled in a device management platform, which is where most Manchester disposal projects hit their first snag.
Beyond tech, the city is a major financial, legal and professional services centre, home to two large universities and one of the biggest NHS foundation trusts in the country, plus a substantial media sector around Salford Quays. The regulated end of that mix — law, finance, healthcare — needs serialised, certificate-per-device destruction rather than a weighbridge ticket, which is the same requirement we handle daily for clients in Leeds.
Two things come up on nearly every Manchester tech-sector collection, and both are worth sorting before we arrive rather than after.
Device management locks. If your fleet is enrolled in Jamf, Intune, Entra ID or Apple Business Manager — and in this sector it almost always is — those devices cannot be resold until they are released. A locked machine is worth nothing on the secondary market, which removes the value that funds free collection and attracts a £25 per-device charge. We always send you the list first so you can release them. Our MDM removal guide covers the exact steps for each platform, including the Autopilot deregistration that is most often missed.
Residual value. A three-year-old MacBook Pro or a well-specified developer workstation retains substantially more value than a standard office desktop of the same age. For a company retiring fifty of them, that difference can turn a disposal project from a cost line into a payment. Ask for a valuation before you commit — see technology buyback for how we assess equipment.
City centre access: much of central Manchester has timed loading restrictions, and a lot of tech and creative businesses sit in serviced offices or converted mills with shared goods lifts that need booking in advance. Tell us the floor, the lift situation and any building management requirements when you book — it is a scheduling detail, not an extra charge, but discovering it on the day costs everyone a morning.
Tell us roughly what you have and we will come back with a straight answer on cost and timing.
